The resort of Batsi is located on the western side of Andros, surrounded by a very picturesque bay area and backed by hills of olives and cypress.
Batsi is the main beach resort of Andros island and is blessed with a good sandy beach, a pretty harbour area and plenty of tavernas and bars alnd the shore.
There is a large car park in the centre of thr resort. The main road curves around the bay directly behind the beach and is lined with tavernas and apartments. At the southern end there is a first floor gallery that is is filled with taverna tables that overlook the beach.
The water is shallow and safe for children, so Batsi is a good resort for famiies and there is decent shade at the northern end where tamarisks run along the back of the beach.
Batsi beach is also very sandy and it is split by a small fresh water stream that runs from a gulley beneath the road. The beach widens at the southern end where there is a small harbour area just around the headland. It is here that ranks of sunbeds are laid out along the shore.
Its popularity as a favourite beach resort has meant considerable development on the hills surrounding the bay with tiers of new apartments spilling down the hillside.
As well as the main Batsi beach there are several small coves within walking distance, notably at Stivari, Agia Marina and Agios Kyprianos.
