Ormos Korthi or Ormos is located in the south of Andros on the east coast below the capital of Hora. It is the main town in southern Andros in a large and beautiful bay with hills rising all around.
Ormos is on first appearances a dull backwater. The village follows the road that curves right around the bay of the huge bay. A paved walkway is on the seaward side of the road, edged by a concrete sea wall and protected by large rocks that have been dumped in the sea as a breakwater.
On the landward side of the road sit a monotonous row of shabby houses with a few cafes and tavernas now and then.
The northern end of the resort ends in several concrete wharfs that give shelter to the fishing boats. There is a good folk museum in Ormos which holds exhibitions in the summer as well as performances of traditional Andriot music and dancing.
