Avlaki beach Corfu

AVLAKI Corfu is a relatively unknown beach located between Agios Stefanos to the south and the bigger resort of Kassiopi to the west.
It is a long and beautiful beach crescent of shingle and pebble with a few apartments at the western end and a couple of tavernas that open in the summer.
Avlaki is a beach for those who enjoy a quiet location and good swimming. There are sunbeds and a boardwalk over the stones on the most popular part of the beach. There are also showers, toilets and changing facilities.
Although shallow at the water's edge there's a sharp drop a couple of metres out, so Avlaki beach is not ideal for children and the water can get choppy when a north breeze starts blowing. It has a Blue Flag, although and there are few sea urchins to be found here.
Avlaki beach has a large car park at the eastern end of the sands and a road runs behind for most of its length. Though normally quiet, Avlaki can get quite crowded at weekends as it is a popular beach for Greeks and their families.
There are lots of walks to be had in the area around Avlaki, with footpaths to Kassiopi in the east and back to Agios Stefanos around the headland to the south.
There's not much in the way of facilities at Avlaki, no shops or bus service but there is boat rental and sometimes a cruise to Corfu Town.
Water sports are confined to a few pedaloes, but there is a sailing school at the end of the Avlaki resort and a pool bar at the nearby Bella Mare Hotel.
