Dassia beach Corfu

DASSIA beach on Corfu is located on the east coast of Corfu island and faces the coast of Albania and the Greek mainland.
Although well signposted from Corfu Town the resort is easy to miss from the fast highway that runs around it and any number of visitors overshoot the turn-off and make their weary way back.
There is plenty of parking space to be found in Dassia but spaces quickly get taken the nearer you get to Dassia beach. There are several access roads to the beach, all parallel to each other and drivers usually park along these.
Dassia beach is on a flat and narrow coastal strip backed by wooded hills and it almost merges with its twin resort of Ipsos just to the north. Dassia beach is a long and narrow stretch of gently sloping pebble and shingle.
There is no sand to speak of on Dassia beach but sand does lie under the waterline. It drops sharply once you are in the sea so this is not a great beach for children. The water is clean though and the beach does have Blue Flag status.
A number of large holiday hotels ensures that Dassia beach is usually crowded and there are any number of cheap restaurants and cafes serving up staple tourist fare of burgers and chips. There are sunbeds and showers - for toilets use the beachside cafes and cantinas.
Dassia has a wide selection of watersports but no mooring for boats. There is some natural shade from trees lining the back of Dassia beach, often in the gardens of beach-front apartments.
Public transport in Dassia is good with regular buses and taxis are plentiful.
