Komeno Corfu

KOMENO BAY Corfu has virtually been taken over by large hotel and apartment complexes in the area known as Cape Komeno.
Komeno It sits on the northern side of the Gulf of Gouvia on the eastern side of the island with views south to Corfu Town about 12km away.
Komeno has the small church of Ypapanti situated on a small islet that is linked with the rest of the island by a narrow strip of land.
Komeno is mostly dominated by a huge hotel complex with a large number of small bungalows and apartments all around the coastline which creates a large enclosed bay with a trio of small, south-facing beaches.
The village of Komeno is located at the head of the cape and here there are plenty of seafront tavernas, restaurants and snack bars to enjoy. Inland from the village the whole area is packed with large luxury hotels.
Every small beach strip, and they are all very small, ihas been commmandeered by hotel sunbeds and you will be lucky to find a sunbathing spot if you are not a guest at one of the hotels.
Some swimming is possible in the small beach coves that can be found all around the Komeno headland, north and south, but most swimming here is done in hotel pools.
The Cape Komeno beaches are rock, stone and shingle and not particularly attractive.
