Camel, Paradise, Banana, Magic, Exotic beaches Kos

Across the bay from Kefalos and Kamari are a string of beaches that merge into each other along the south coast. They are hugely popular with visitors despite there being no village or resort as such, just mile after mile of golden sand.
It is hard to tell where on beach starts and another ends and the beaches life their names from some characteristic feature or the name of a taverna. Many names have also been 'Anglicised'.
The first, heading east from Kamari sands, is KAMILA or CAMEL beach where there is a small port and fish tavernas. Beyond that heading east is PARADISE aka BUBBLE beach because volcanic bubbles emerge from the sand some way offshore. There is good sand here plenty of sun beds and water sports. Beach tavernas line the back of the beach and this is probably the most popular of them all.
Further east still the sands blend into other beaches, notably LAGANDA aka BANANA, another beach known as SUNNY and then POLENI or MAGIC beach where the crowds gradually thin out as the beach gets narrower. Nevertheless they offer sun beds, water sports and beach tavernas. Finally there is XEROKAMBOS or EXOTIC.
All of them are accessible with regular buses stopping at Paradise. Dirt tracks and footpaths leads to many secluded beaches which naturists hunt down.
