Marmari Kos

MARMARI beach, or MARMARIS lies along the north coast of Kos, about 15km from Kos Town and walkable from neighbouring Tingaki. The long flat beach is mostly sand with a few stones here and there. It is gently shelving into the sea so fine for children, though seaweed can be a problem all along this part of the coast.
Tavernas at the back of the beach and those that offer sun beds have a reputation for cleaning the beach each day, raking the sand and clearing up any litter. Wind can be a problem on this north facing beach and seas can get choppy with big breakers on the windiest days.
Just inland, about 5km, is the attractive village of Pyli, with more tavernas and cafes. There are frequent buses from Kos Town and boat moorings can be found in the small port.
