Tingaki Kos

Tingaki beach is very long and sandy, pleasant for a morning walk or in the evening to watch to sun set over Kalymnos on the horizon. The white sand beach lies about 11km from Kos Town along the north coast and can be quite narrow in places but there are plenty of sun beds and the sea is shallow enough for children to wander out quite a distance.
Underwater currents can be a problem though and, being north facing, it can sometimes get choppy in the strong winds. Bow waves from passing ferries can also wash away your belongings if you plant yourself too near the shore. There is a problem with large clumps of seaweed and you may have to find a 'clean' spot between the underwater banks of it, though it's not unpleasant to walk through being the brown feathery stuff. There are some water sports too.
The further east you go, towards the salt pans, the more likely you are to come across naturists. Doughnut sellers parade the most popular sections of the beach.
There are plenty of tavernas near the beach and in the resort proper. Nightlife is contained in the resort and can be loud and lively with clubs and discos banging away until dawn. There are many small hotels and apartments offering rooms. There is an hourly bus service from Kos Town and its easily reachable by bicycle along the flat coast road.
