Pserimos Kos

PSERIMOS is a small islet north of Kos, between Kos and Kalymnos, about six nautical miles north of Kos and between Kos and Kalymnos.
Pserimos is a favourite target of day cruise boats thanks mainly to a single huge, south-facing sandy beach set in an enclosed and sheltered Pserimos bay with low hills behind.
Pserimos is supplied by a daily ferry from Pothia, on Kalymnos, but most visitors are those arriving from Kos on the daily sea cruise boats that pull into the large and sheltered bay.
Pserimos bay is very beautiful, enclosed by a long split of land where the cruise boats tie up. The bay is composed of one long beach of deep golden sand.
The beach is backed by several tavernas that quickly fill up when the tour boats arrive. A few apartments are dotted about the bay and some tavernas offer rooms above.
Pserimos islet is only about 15 sq km and any partof it can be reached with an easy walk. Thepermanent residents number less than 100, most of them involved in fishing and tourism.
Tracks lead all over the islet and there are a few more secluded beaches and coves to be found by walking along the island paths but the beaches are small, have no facilities and are usually choked with flotsam and debris.
