Mikros Yialos / Rouda beach Lefkas

MIKROS YIALOS or MIKROS GIALOS beach, also known as ROUDA beach is considered one of the most beautiful on Lefkas - Lefkada. It is located about 25km south of Lefkas Town and below the hill village of Poros.
Mikros Yialos is a small fishing port on the east side of the deep sheltered inlet of Rouda Bay. The beach is a little to the north - a long, sand and pebble beach at the head of the bay.
This beach, much the best one to be found along this part of the coast, is dominated by the Rouda Bay Hotel beach complex and so Mikros Yialos is often referred to as Rouda beach.
This is where there are many apartments and studios, some tavernas, snack bars and children's playground. On the beach are sunbeds, umbrellas and watersports.
As it is south-facing Rouda beach gets the best of the sun but there is no natural shade anywhere and without a beach umbrella it can feel very exposed.
Just to add to the fun there is a also small campsite near the beach with a pool, car parking and a restaurant.
The huge beach complex and campsite both ensure that the sands here are often crowded and Mikris Yialos is no beach to while away a quiet afternoon, although it does have a reputation for some very good snorkeling.
To the east are a couple of small coves at Mikros Yialos proper and these can be reached along the road through the village.
