MILOS beach Lefkas is an isolated stretch of sand located just to the south of Agios Nikitas on the north-west coast of Lefkas - Lefkada.
Don't mistake it for the confusingly named Milos Beach Resort at Agios Ioannis, just north of Lefkas Town, a big favourite with windsurfers and host to the 2009 EFPT championships.
Milos beach is just over the hill south of Agios Nikitas and the coarse sand and pebble beach is one of three on this part of the coast along with Agios Nikitas and Kathisma.
Access to Milos beach is down a dirt track from Agios Nikitas. The coastal track can be quite difficult to walk in places, slippery, steep and with a few rocks to climb so it is not for those with walking difficulties.
The walk to Milos beach takes about 20 minutes and many prefer to catch a taxi boat that operated from Agios Nikitas.
Above Milos beach is a stone windmill, built in 1741 and now a café and bar with great views over the beach and bay. The owners have built some wooden steps to ease the way down to Milos beach.
Milos beach is long and deep with coarse sand and plenty of pebbles. It slopes quite steeply into the sea, which get also get quite choppy in the offshore breezes so this beach is not very good for families with children.
Milos beach is exposed, with no natural shade. Caves to the south are favoured by naturists. Quiet and relaxed, Milos beach is a great away-from-it-all spot for those who prefer less crowded beaches.
