Sivota Lefkas

SIVOTA is a picturesque fishing port located in south-east Lefkas and about 33km from Lefkas Town.
The village is at the head of a deep bay and Sivota well protected by long sweep of hills that curves around the cove to create a small entrance into the Ionian Sea.
Sivota is a big favourite with the yachting crowd, thanks to its sheltered anchorage. The resort is usually very quiet during daylight hours but livens up at nighttime when the boats tie up.
Sivota has stone quays on three sides of the harbour and a new pontoon to the south-east so there is no shortage of berths for the yacht flotillas that sail in each evening.
Sivota is also home to sailing holiday companies and so the bay gets busier than usual at the weekends as the locals wave goodbye to crews leaving and welcome new arrivals.
Sivota is also the finish point for the annual popular South Ionian Regatta, which is held at the end of September. The bay gets chock-a-bloc with boats and the local tavernas get to host the many post-regatta parties.
There is no shortage of waterfront tavernas and cafes to welcome the crowds: they line the quays all around Sivota harbour.
Sivota village has three mini-markets located along the west quay all of which are well stocked with provisions for the yacht crews.
The village has many traditional stone-built houses and there is a small, secluded stony beach on the opposite side of the bay.
