Kolios beach Skiathos

KOLIOS is a small and pretty bay sandwiched between the bigger beaches of Vromolimnos and Platanias and served by bus stops 13, 14 and 15 on the Skiathos south coast road> It lies about 9km west of Skiathos Town.
South-west facing and in a deep sheltered bay, the sharp sand beach at Kolios is edged by wooded headlands at either end and is close the main road.
Kolios has two tavernas on the beach, both of which are good but one of which is considered more up-market and on the trendy side. There are plenty of sunbeds on the beach and watersports are on offer.
There is plenty of accommodation to be found in the Kolios beach area and there are several tavernas and minimarkets nearby to meet the seasonal demand.
Holidays in Kolios are popular with families and those looking for a less busy Skiathos beach resort. There are just a few shops and some low-key tavernas.
Kolios beach is a curving stretch of fine, sharp sand that slopes gently into the sea, so it's good and safe for families. Beach facilities are gathered at one end of Kolios leaving the other end of Kolios beach much quieter.
Skiathos round-island tour boats often pull in at Kolios at the small jetty and when the trippers disembark the main section of Kolios beach and the shoreline tavernas can sometimes get quite crowded.
There are several more small secluded coves to each side of the main Kolios beach that are fairly easily reached on foot.
